About Me
I started painting in my fifties at a Community Education Class at the local high school, Portraits in Pastels. From portraits I branched out into landscapes, and from pastels into watercolors. Today I still enjoy both mediums and also dabble in acrylics. I love the depth and texture of pastels and the fluid transparency of watercolors.
Painting is my passion and relaxation. I paint what “sings” to me, be it a scene in the woods, a stream or lake, a garden, still life composition or children at play. I enjoy what I do; it gives me pleasure and satisfaction. My hope is that others will also enjoy my works with the understanding that the completion of a work of art is in the eye of the beholder.
I am a member of the Evans Art Guild and North Shore Art Alliance; have exhibited in local art shows and galleries. Currently I have paintings at the Ink Well in Allegany , NY and Surrounds in Westfield , NY . I have also exhibited at Sensory Winery & Gallery in Ripley , NY with the NSAA.
I have been selected into membership of the Chautauqua Lake Erie Art Trail and will be participating in the trail on May 23, 24, and June 6, 7, 2015.
I have a small studio in my home in the Town of Portland, New York. Appointments made upon request.
